Seven months

All this time I thought Madara was the youngest baby possible, but today at the church service there was this newborn baby girl and compared to her, she looks so grown up already! A lot has happened this month:
  • she has learned to crawl like a big girl now
  • she's started pulling herself up
  • today she learned how to sit without any support
  • she got her first tooth on 7th of July.
She loves her new mini pool her godmother got her. I even put her in it when we are at home, because this weather is crazy hot and I can just imagine how refreshing it can be. Every day she falls more and more in love with our cat - it's a shame the cat isn't people oriented and bites a lot. Madara really likes engaging with other people, especially with babies and children. I am considering joining some baby school/group thing so that she could spend some time with other babies. We'll see if I can find one close by.
She dislikes me singing to her. Not that she shows her dislike in any way but it isn't the same anymore. Me singing always worked when she was upset or crying but now she doesn't care really.
Parents around me constantly tell that babies grow up so fast. I really don't want to believe them because I love this age she's in. She's happy for most part of the day. She's fine playing alone and doesn't need our active attention that much. She laughs at our silly faces and sounds. And the best thing that can happen to her is us taking her in our arms - could it be any better?

"Beastly"

This was my second time going to the movies with my daughter. I am so glad I finally gathered the courage to visit one of the baby-friendly shows. Both times Madara had a blast. She was loving the new toys and all the other babies that were willing to play with her (or at least be around her). After the movie I even went to the toy store and bought one of the toys she played with during the movie. We'll see if she likes to play with it at home or not.

realization

Where do I begin? The flat is a mess. There are drying rack full of clothes that has to be ironed and put away. Dirty ones are lying on the couch or coffee table. My desk has miscellaneous stuff that shouldn't be here: nail polish remover, roll of clean socks, baby rattle and pacifier, unopened pack of bibs, empty water bottle and cotton pads. The floor is so dirty that after Madara had finished crawling she was immediately taken to bath. Oh, and did I mention the two hangers with shirts hanging from the curtain rod? I could go on and on.

I probably wouldn't even notice it tonight if only by accident (or not) my husband wouldn't have taken a photo of the room with my new cellphone (he was just checking it out, you know). It looked horrible. You know how most of the time you don't notice those flaws or dirt around your house until you see it in a picture or after arriving home after a couple or more days away? That's what happened.

As it will be midnight soon and small babies aren't very negotiable when it comes to discussing reasonable time to wake up on weekends .. I better go to bed now. Cleaning up just will have to wait until tomorrow.
